A while back, I wrote a Blog post comprising a list of tips for shopping in general in Red Brick Market, Liverpool. It's got a fair few views so I've just hit on the idea of some tips for shopping in my unit when I'm not there!
You can find my unit not far from the main doors. Just bear very slightly left as you come in and go down the aisle in front of you (to the right of Sharky's Music T shirts!) - I'm the first unit on the right!

Allow time to properly look round my unit - It changes very often, as I'm in every week and try and move things round on a regular basis to keep it looking fresh!
I have a lot of framed prints in the unit, as I want to make sure the most popular prints are available BUT there are a lot more to see as unframed prints - these are in the boxes, again sorted by area. I sell the unframed prints, fully mounted so you can simply drop them into your own frames. Similarly, as people always ask for prints larger or smaller, I now have more prints available in Red Brick as both standard & smaller sizes - so make sure you check out both boxes if you like a print but want it bigger/smaller to suit your space/pocket! I've now separated my Gothic & Nature prints from the rest of my Liverpool prints - unframed prints (standard size & smaller) are in the wooden box at the back of the unit and the framed prints are on the back wall and the tall table!
It's fine to take prints off the walls / ledges - Please feel free to pick up my work to get a better look at it. All I ask is that you put it back where you found it.
You can get a better look at my large fine arts prints in the art rack. The unframed prints are in boxes and, to make it easier for you, I've separated them into areas - Waterfront - City - Crosby/Formby/Wirral. As with any shop, please handle things with care and leave my unit as you'd want to find it.
How to buy when I'm not there - I love a good laminated sign 😁 & everything you need to know when visiting is up on the walls. Just take anything you want to buy to the Red Brick main desk (on the right hand side when you enter through the main doors). The main desk is now cashless, so you can only pay by card/contactless. (I am happy to take cash or card/contactless when I am in my unit)
Please don't just 'Snap & Go'! I generally don't like to be negative but this is happening more & more and makes me so cross! I see so many people on my CCTV feed obviously liking my work, but just taking a photo of it with their phone (or believe it or not, with their DSLR camera!!) & then walking out. It's great that you've found my work & like it, but it's far better (if you can't buy the item that day), to take a photo of my name and/or website details - look me up online, follow my social media feeds & support me that way, with follows, likes & comments.
These prints are my unique take on the places around us. You can't buy my work cheaper online or elsewhere and it's not going to look as good on your phone screen! If you want to share my work or show someone else, please share my name/website/social media, rather than a bad copy of my work.
Social Media is one of the easiest ways to help a small business stay in business! It costs nothing to follow / like / comment / share posts and every single interaction helps the business become more visible.
Security - I have to mention this aspect of my business. Like most of Red Brick, my unit has constantly recording CCTV (& signage clearly informing visitors of this). This is obviously primarily for security reasons but it also allows me to know what gets sold when, so that I can ensure that I bring in the right stock to keep the business running smoothly.
Changing your mind - If you take a print out of my unit but then change your mind as you walk round the market, please bring it back to my unit or leave it with the main desk. Please don't just put it down somewhere else in the market. Red Brick is HUGE & has a lot of units & spaces, it could take weeks to track it down!
Accessibility - I aim to keep the floor space of my unit clear, so as to make it as wheelchair (or buggy) friendly as possible. Many prints are displayed on low units (as are my unframed prints). If you require assisstance when I am not there, I'm sure the staff on the main desk will be able to help.
Come back often! I swap prints around on a regular basis and I am constantly adding new prints, so make sure you visit often so you keep up to date! Remember, Red Brick Market is open every day of the week until 6pm.
I quite often add a Sale Box of reduced priced prints to my unit, this tends to be for prints that I have taken off my website.
I post on social media when I have a Sale Box & when I will be in my unit (or out at other events)
Thanks very much for reading - I LOVE my Red Brick unit & I hope you will too. Below - very wobbly video of how to find me!
